2009 ATLAS Physics Workshop of the Americas @ NYU, August 3-5
This is the next meeting in the series formerly known as the North American Physics Workshops held in Tucson, Toronto, Boston, SLAC and Vancouver and is jointly organized by Canada, Latin America, and U.S.A. [see announcement]
The workshop will be held at New York University in Manhattan on August 3-5, 2009. We have arranged for very affordable lodging at NYU's new residence hall on 12th St., and there's no need to rent a car. In addition, we've arranged for a fantastic reception on the 40th floor of the world trade center co-sponsored by the New York Academy of Sciences. The workshop is open to all ATLAS members, and the sessions on Monday (including the reception) are open to non-ATLAS members as well.
The easiest way to get to the residence hall with your luggage is by taxi, but you can save money by either taking an airport bus or subway from the airport into Manhattan. For more details, you may wish to consult NYU's travel information. We've also put together some specific workshop directions for the residence hall and the reception at the New York Academy of Sciences.
The agenda has been outlined by the international organizing committee, and will be developed in weeks to come. The workshop will include a poster session on Wednesday.
