Print A4 Paper on Physics Department "US letter" Printers

The postscript printers in NYU Physics Department can only handle US letter size (8.5 x 11in) documents. However, in most of the world, people use "A4" size (210 x 297mm) paper. Converting postscript files to pdf files and printing them with "Shrink to Fit" option is one solution to this annoying problem. (Email me if you know other solutions.)

a4ps2pdf (tested on scires) is a ps2pdf script tailored by webmaster@physics.nyu.edu. Use the right button on your mouse to click here (Netscape on UNIX/Linix) to save it on your scires account and set the right permission. The usage is

chmod +x ./a4ps2pdf
./a4ps2pdf file.ps

It will generate a file with name "file.pdf". Use acrobat reader to open the pdf file and print it with "Shrink to Fit" option on. (screen shot)
